Turning of Nitronic Shaft for the Pump Industry
Having a technically proficient workforce to operate our cutting edge equipment allows N.E.T. & Die, Inc. to deliver tight tolerance components within narrow time constraints. We manufactured 12 of the pump shafts highlighted here in just three weeks. Material of construction was Nitronic 60, a stainless steel alloy valued for its high-strength, corrosion-resistant properties across a wide temperature range. We took advantage of the programmable features on our Milltronics engine lathe as well as its live tooling capacity in order to fabricate this shaft from a single fixture.
When completed, the pump shaft featured overall dimensions of 2.5" in diameter x 46.0" in length and a 16 surface finish. Close inspection of the components on our CMM equipment validated we met the tight ±.0005" tolerance requirements.
